| DJ DRCFollowing two years of personal soul searching and self-discovery in New York, West Coast dance pioneer DRC (aka Darcey Kearney) has returned to San Francisco with a new outlook and reinvigorated perspective on the dance music scene she has been an integral part of since the early 90’s. “The hardest rocking set of the night, leaving Sandra Collins and Christopher Lawrence with the unenviable task of following her” - Mixer Moving to San Francisco from her native Idaho during the American rave scene’s nascent days, DRC cut her teeth on the decks coming up together with such West Coast dance music icons as DJ Dan, Christopher Lawrence, Taylor, Sandra Collins, the Hardkiss Family, Jondi & Spesh, Young American Primitive, and DJ Trance. Making her name on the scene through a skillfully mixed hybrid of tough tribal/acid, breaks, and bass-heavy drum’n’bass, DRC’s high voltage performances soon found her crisscrossing the US every weekend, electrifying dancefloors in Denver, Portland, Los Angeles, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Dallas as well as the Closing Party at the 2000 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games and on tours of Canada, Germany, Holland and Eastern Europe. “One of America’s Top 100 DJ’s” – Sweater Magazine Not content to merely rock the turntables, DRC has also harnessed that unmatched energy in the studio. A classically trained vocalist, she has lent her vocal talents to tracks by San Fran house legend DJ EFX as well as collaborations with DJ Thee-O, Auditory Sculpture, and her own solo work with engineer Chris Demetras, lending a unique, captivating sound to releases on labels such as Groovalicious, iMix, Merge, Twin Soul Productions, Vision Music, and her own Undefined Muzik imprint. She has also had tracks featured in two films, the dance music DVD documentary Intellect and Synergy: Vision of Vibe. “(DRC has) a true understanding of (music’s) self-revelatory effects. The magical journey she captains is uniquely interwoven.” – XLR8R Now back in San Francisco a little older and wiser, DRC is ready to pick up where she left off with a more groovy, sophisticated dancefloor direction, integrating her opera-trained voice and FX into her DJ sets, taking her talents to the next level. Again reunited with engineer Chris Demetras, expect a new series of fresh new original DRC tracks and mixes leading up to her long awaited debut commercial mix album, capturing the energy and electricity of this true artist at their finest.
