Journees was founded in 1991 in the San Francisco Bay Area by Eric Tom Lee (Dj Liquid) while interning as a designer with Joel Hornbeck and Gus Lanzas at Computer Generation (CG) in Cupertino, CA. Eric was already making a name for himself djing around the Bay Area at underground clubs and events.

While at CG Eric got into event production with events at the warehouse as well as larger events such as at the legendary 177 Townsend and King Street Garage. The crew started creating t-shirts with the 'IF' brand. This soon expanded to include the REALTIME and JOURNEES brands.

The brand of t-shirts enjoyed national and international succes. In the orders the crew included promotional mixtapes, taking inspiration from Southern California djs Dj Dan, Ron D. Core, Jon Bishop and many more including the promotional mixtapes with each order. Journees certainly helped forge electronic music, especially on the West Coast. Eric brought friend Shilo Maggi on board and together they took the empire to new heights. The clothing line was growing at such a pace that the decision was made to launch a new brand, which came to be REMIX.

At this time Journees was simultaneously expanded to raise the bar from promotional mix tapes to promotional cds to licensed mix cds. The early mixes such as ElectroAcidFunk and Remix Project series help solidify Journees' mark on the global dance music culture. The mix cd collections expanded tremendously, later signing outside artists such as Vicious Vic, Chris Jackson, Dj Voodoo, Dj Demonixx, Dj Darkness, Echosphere and dozens more.

The natural progression had the label evolve to releasing original tracks on vinyl, cd, and eventually digital distribution which included Sandy Rivera, Vicious Vic, Echosphere, Matt Mau, Simply Jeff, and many more. With nearly 100 releases under our belt we're just getting warmed up and appreciate your support over the past 20 years.

With peace and respects-
