A dreamscape of exotic food and playful sensuality obscured by aromatic steam... these are but a few of the things Coppe' wants you to imagine when you think of her label (Mango & Sweet Rice) and her music. Flickering neon images of smoky late-night clublife imtermingled with the lingering vibe of a Tokyo/ Honolulu upbringing, wrapped around deceptively naive hedonism. Coppe's creation established the direction she wanted to explore. My Ice Cream Man teases and prances suggestively around a bobbing carousel griddily reminiscent of Mouse on Mars or Shantel. Blue Time Machine takes you on a romantic daydream trip via the blue elevator in the Paramount Hotel. The hip-hop influenced sounds of downtempo erotica... intelligent drum&bass similar to the sounds of LTJBukem are heard on tracks such as Tree Swing. Nods to Tricky, Portishead, Dj Cam, and Massive Attack mix with more longstanding loves like David Sylvian, Brian Eno, and other champagne soaked sophisticates.
